Mail Art for Artful Times

Greetings friends this post is sharing
"Mail Art"
as it is the challenge over at Artful Times
Great challenge and some fabby projects made by the team.
Do pop over and take a look

I got all inky with this one :)

I took a regular envelope and rubbed some gesso all over front and back
then used DI
Bundled sage, Weathered wood, Worn lipstick and Tea dye
I also gave it a little cosmic shimmer spray Ancient gold
there is a lot of background stamping using
text in soft blue, diamonds and a bird cage in weathered wood
A Tim Holtz background stamp in sepia
then butterflies and a feather along with one or two other stamps I liked.

I also decorated the back of the envelope

and made a card to go inside my Mail Art envelope
As you can tell I had great fun with this challenge a great Saturday morning :)

Thank you for looking and taking time to comment which are much appreciated.

Enjoy your Sunday

Artful Times Ch Pin it

Hello and I do hope you are all managing to fit in some crafting time.
The ladies over at Artful Times are keeping us on our toes
with the latest challenge and it is a tricky one.
They are asking for something that can be pinned..
I decided to stick with my vintage style I am happiest in,
and used a simply cardboard disk which I painted with pale grey then stippled gold with a dry brush. It is then stamped with a floral swirl and I stuck some seed beads around the edges added some tiny flowers (I have had for years)
a punched out butterfly.
That left a gap which I looked at for days before I added the image and I think it works LOL.
It has been finish with cinnamon stickles in the centre of the flowers and around the edge.
I have added the back photo to show the pin, I shall wear it on a scarf maybe.

Thank you for all your kind comments on my previous Artful Times challenge post. I really do appreciate them. :)

Enjoy bank holiday weekend.

Artful Times Ch Spray Away

Happy Easter to all crafting Chicks
hope you all had loads of Chocolate and got crafting time as well

I know I have been AWOL again :( but in my defense I am making a very special quilt  :)
which I will share later in the year.

Over at Artful Times the lovely ladies have asked for projects that have used spray
I have made this canvas which has been painted with gueso
and then sprayed with vintage cosmic shimmer, Patina and Tarnished Gold
I then stamped tissue paper with swirl and text and stuck to canvas
gave it another spray of both
I then glued some lace on the bottom left of the canvas and sprayed it again
Die cut flowers and leaves which have all been spayed before I made them
I have added the metal with a picture and some pieces of a broken necklace to finish
(as I missed the metal challenge sorry Girls)

The words reflect the style I love to work in which is this canvas.

Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving lovely comments which I really appreciate.

Anything Goes

Helloooooooooooooo
Wow what a beautiful few days we have had in SUNNY suffolk so good for the soul.
The wonderful sunny weather has inspired my postcard art cum art journal-ish piece
Unfortunately my photo colour makes it look darker than it is in the flesh

I have painted the background with pale yellow, sage green and pearlised pink
all the colours I see in my garden
spritzed with tattered angels marshmallow

I used a mask for the diamonds using a lilac ink

I have stamped in chateau grey text and a bird cage it is very pale hard to see in the photo
then stamped swirl in sepia and the butterflies and stamp stamps in purple

Die cut a bird cage and punched butterflies and stamped the title added a few white highlights to finish.

Thank you for looking

I enter this into
and a new challenge blog
both asking for Anything Goes

Also made a seascape in fabric, lace and paint and  free motion machine stitch
hopefully it looks like pools of water and sandbanks before the open sea :)

Thank you for looking and commenting which is always appreciated.
Thanks for the lovely comments about my latest bear creations. XXX

Little Boxes at Artful Times CH 49

Hello and I am feeling good today it has been a lovely spring day
and me and the diamond have been out to the seaside for a lovely walk along the prom and then lunch
I know I spoil him :) well it is his birthday today :)

Over at Artful Times they have all box mad and made some wonderful examples for us.
Now I just love decorating boxes so I couldn't pass this up hence 2 boxes

I  painted the heart shape box with gold inside and out
then cut out the paper and distressed and inked the edge
sprayed the paper flowers to colour
and mounted on a simple black paper circle
punched a tag and distressed the edges again
I wanted this box to be suitable for a man to pop his present inside :)

I then just had to go all girlie and covered the square box with this gorgeous paper
inside and out, I then rubbed chalk ink around all the edges
added a die cut corner and a made flower.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving comments I very much appreciate it.

Hugs have a great week.

Flower Power

Hello there
firstly
Just like to thank you very much for visiting and commenting on my last post :)
lovely to catch up with blogging buddies. Particularly as I hadn't been blogging for quite a while.
Hugs XXX

This week I was having a blog trawl and came across the latest challenge on
Frilly and Funky they are asking for lots and lots of handmade flowers
Fantastic :) as I love making flowers so therapeutic.

Also asking for us to Build it up over at FSC

I have this gorgeous bought photo frame and it is perfect for decorating the center.

I choose a colour palette of Blue and Cream (one of my favorite)
used some new papers I have by docrafts for the center and the handmade flowers.
I stamped the paper with the flowers and the bird cage in blue
added a layered strip of contrasting blue paper
and another layer of the little girl
I used water colour pencils (blue) to tint the flowers in the girls hair
and of course made all the flowers with the same papers to finish the decoration
and added two plain cream punched flowers which I have text stamped to finish.

*just to be sure I did not decorate the outer frame this is how it was bought*

Hope you are all keeping clear of those horrendous floods

Have a great week.

Hugs Sandra X

PS! Shhhhh New bears coming soon :)

Artful Times Ch 48 TH Style

Yawnnnnnnnnnnnn Stretchhhhhhhh
deep breathes
AND
yes I am out of hibernation :)
I simply can't believe that I haven't blogged since just before Christmas
Bad Bad Girl :(

In my defense I have been busy making bears I will photo them soon and share with you soon.

I must say it was so lovely to take part in the Artful Times challenge
the lovely ladies are asking for Tim Holtz style Tags, Cards or ATC
so I  got really messy with a tag and it felt good. :)

The tag has been painted black
stamped and clear embossed swirls
painted over with storm cloud and rubbed back to reveal the swirls (love this TH technique)
I stamped with a TH diamond stamp
made a grunge flower and die cut a TH swirl
also die cut the bird and cage (although not TH dies)
added a few embellies.

A great shabby TH look I think.

I guess I should wish you all a very Happy New Year (embarrassed look) as its nearly spring
and I do hope you have not been unduly affected by flood and gale.

See you soon

and thank you stopping by and commenting its always appreciated
