Faces OOAH Ch 54
Hello all! well we are at Easter and yes its still so darn cold it is freezing my mojo has frozen
up luckily I did this before this problem occurred. I was very cheered up by the lovely projects you all did for our challenges this month so much talent out there in blog land and thank you for your kind comments I really appreciate them. And a BIG thank you to Tracey we have really enjoyed having her as a guest designer this month. This week we are asking for "Faces" a very versatile theme so get your thinking caps on. I went for a hanging it is a sandwich of card and corrugated which has been swooshed with paint, then the next layer is painted and stamped the next layer is from patterned paper and the image (she is gorgeous) has been highlighted with seed beads the flowers are made from old book pages . Do visit Janet and Chrissie. Looking forward to seeing your projects on Out of a Hat blog. Happy Easter and hugs Sandra XXX

Hanging Challenge 49
Hello all just loved your altered matchboxes such fab things to decorate. Hopefully you will find this challenge a must we are asking for "hanging" maybe a door hanging or just something to decorate your craft space with. I have made mine a pennant shape. I have cut card and covered it wit sticky back canvas. The background is a postcard image which I have transferred using TAP onto the canvas. I then washed a little acrylic paint in sand and rubbed over Tea Dye DI. I have edged with a crackle look stamp. The edges are decorated with rolled old book pages. The lovely lady image is has distressed inked edges. I have made little rolled flowers that have been mounted onto corrugated card. Finished with a punched butterfly and bits of lace. Thanks for looking and you kind comments are much appreciated. Do visit Janet and Chrissie. Looking forward to
seeing your projects. Hugs Sandra XThursday, 15 November 2012
Use some Stash
Hi All, I hope you had fun with the Locks and Keys we certainly ad some gorgeous entries thank you for joining us and for stopping by to leave lovely comments on my blog I really appreciate it. This week we are asking you to have a rummage and use some of that stash good idea to clear out before Christmas to make room for more LOL.
I have made a retro / shabby chic butterfly hanging. I have covered chipboard with sticky back canvas, painted it with antique white and dabbed some metallic gold around the edges then stamped with text in sepia. The butterfly is made from some gorgeous retro fabric shared with us by Lorraine, I have made a very bad attempt at free form machine stitching ( I am still practising this technique but its hard). I have hand stitched to some jute and beaded and added some lace and buttons to finish. Hope you join us this week as there is gorgeous prize on offer. Do be sure and check out Florence, Janet and Chrissie lovely projects. Take care and thanks for joining us.
Hugs as Always. Sandra XXX

The Artful Times Ribbon & Lace
Challenge 5 over at The Artful Times is Ribbon and Lace, fantastic theme ladies (3 cheers) I just love lace, fabric, ribbon that's why my sewing cupboard is bulging LOL, trouble is I hate to use it up I just like looking at it LOL. Well I had this frame painted for a while now with sky blue and crackled using stormy sky, never really new what to do next with it but the theme gave me inspiration. I used graphics 45 paper for the back drop and a piece of double sided blue / pink which I rolled back to reveal the activity in the shop. I stamped around the frame with sewing theme stamps and added metal scissors and a corner piece. the lace flowers are stained with antique linen and weathered wood DI the fan is ribbon and again stained I used a piece of jute with buttons on top. The shop sign has a blue ribbon rose. The heart well its because I just love the theme. Thanks for looking and for the lovely comments that are left I really appreciate them.

Out of the Hat Creations. challenge 4
The Challenge pulled out of the hat (Out of the Hat Creations) for this week was a bit tricky as I had to rummage around in the Diamonds shed sacred ground LOL. He bless him thought I had completely lost my marbles (maybe he is right LOL). Anyway I found a large tin full of all sorts of stuff like old coins, snaps, washers, brass bits (collar dog backings) from his Army days some old buckles and old sacking.
I decided to make a fabric art (art really?) hanging. So I chose 2 sorts of fabric that had a design that looked like rusty circles and old colours. I backed with some wadding and did a bit of free form sewing all over it. I hand dyed a piece of used colour catcher (I just love these sheets so versatile) using water and acrylic paint just a quick dunk and sewed it to my fabric. i covered the fabric with wunderweb and gave it a blast with my heat gun it resembles cobwebs which I also found in the shed :) I cut circles out of the colour catcher and sewed washers to it with metallic thread and sewed on the brass colour backings the snaps were fabric glued. It is all attached with wire and green garden sticks also from the shed. Thanks for stopping by me blog and the lovely comments. Hope you can take part in our challenge as I would love to see what you come up with. Hugs All Sandra XXX
